Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Bootshaus, a charming restaurant nestled along the serene waters of Meppen. Located at Widukindstraße 22, this culinary gem is not just about the food; it’s about the experience. As you settle into a cozy booth, you’re greeted by a team of friendly staff, many of whom are eager to share a few words in Dutch, creating a delightful sense of familiarity for all visitors.

The atmosphere at Bootshaus is unparalleled. Imagine dining with a picturesque view of boats gliding across the water, especially from a balcony seat. It's no wonder customers like Fred van Os rave about the scenic dining experience. The ambiance is characterized by a blend of warm hospitality and a relaxed environment, making it a perfect spot for both intimate dinners and special gatherings.

Now, let’s delve into the culinary delights Bootshaus has to offer. From succulent steaks to savory seafood, the menu is crafted for flavor enthusiasts. The Flanksteak in Pfefferkruste, praised by the discerning Raphael Spraul, showcases the kitchen's dedication to quality. Each bite reveals tenderness and a robust pepper crust that tantalizes the palate. Desserts here also hold their own, providing a fitting conclusion to a splendid meal.

Lieuwe Jongsma encapsulates the essence of Bootshaus with his heartfelt review on the food and service, indicating the establishment's consistent quality. However, some diners, like FT T, noted minor inconsistencies in food preparation times and specific dish execution, such as the Büsumer Pfanne and steak temperature. These nuances assure us that while Bootshaus strives for excellence, there are opportunities for refinement.

One possible hurdle for international patrons is the language barrier, as noted by visitor rick groet. However, the accommodating staff is ready to translate the menu, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their meal without feeling lost in translation.

In summary, Bootshaus has carved a niche in Meppen's flourishing dining scene, with its enchanting views, delectable dishes, and attentive service. Whether you’re savoring a perfectly cooked steak or enjoying the sunset alongside a plate of fresh seafood, each visit promises a memorable culinary journey. Indulge your senses at Bootshaus—you won’t be disappointed!

Great food, friendly service and a nice view of the water. We'll surely come here again!

You have a beautiful scenery from the boothouse, take spot near the balcony, you will see boats coming and going. Food is tasty (although my chicken with wrapped around bacon could use some extra saus to finish it off). Very nice staff, even speaks a little bit of dutch.

Only problem was no english menue, although the waiter was kind enough to translate for us. Its a nice restaurant
